Spring Light Up !!

Hida Takayama has many fine spots from which you can view magnificent cherry trees in bloom.






The trees are sometimes illuminated in the evening, allowing people to enjoy the flowers all day.
In Takayama there are 2 spots you can enjoy the Illuminated cherry trees.

1: Nakabashi- bridge


Date : 15th April to end of April.
Time: 19:00- 22:00pm





2: Enako river


Date : 15th April to end of April.
Time: 19:00- 22:00pm





Both of the place are about 5 min from J-Hoppers Hida Takayama Guest House.

Shirawago～light up～2011

Hi there ,I am Matsu from J-Hoppers Hida Takayama guesthouse.

This year, it hasn't snowed as much as usual in Takayama.

For local people like me, it is really good thing because we don't need to shovel snows.

By the way,Shirakawago(world heritage village) will be lit up from this month to February on weekend.

Autumn Illumination in Hida Takayama

It's getting cold as days go by.
The season for autumn leaves will started at the beginning of October.
This year, we had extremely hot summer. But it will be largely unaffected
Changes in temperature and light affect the color of leaves.

Takayama has many good spots for viewing autumn leaves, such as Nakabashi-bridge, Kokubunji-temple, Higashiyama walking course and Enako river.
Some of these spots will be illuminated from beginning-October to early November to allow evening viewing of the trees.
For example, the Nakabashi Bridge is illuminated soon after dark to create a fantastic view of the surrounding area.

Illumination of Subzero Forest (Hyoutenkano mori Lights up)

The Subzero Forest is a special winter attraction which has been presented by the isolated mountain inn,
‘Akigami Onsen Ryokan’ since1971. The ”Forest of ice”, which was created by the innkeeper after long years of effort, is lit in blue during the daytime and illuminated at night, showing us a fantastic world.

Nakabashi Bridge and Miyagawa river has been illuminated to create
a fantastic landscape.
It has been hot outside daytime in Takayama but after evening it is
the best time to chill out.
The atomosphere of day time in Takayama is totally different from night time.
It is so quite.That is what I like.Why don't you go for a walk to see a fantastic landscape.
