Hida Takayama ultra marathon


Running through Old town

 There will be 2nd Hida Takayama ultra marathon held in Takayama on 9th June.

It has 2  courses(72kms and 100kms)

Some guests went in for the event last year.

Why don't you take a part in the event if you visit Takayama around the time.

You can book until the end of March.

Time restriction:14hours for 100kms   and 11hours for 72kms
Entry fee    :16000yen for 100kms     12000yen for 72kms

Shizukumiya Festival
See the sake barrel mikoshi, portable shrine, carried by the local youth. You can try “Kami no shizuku” sake and browse many food stalls.

Nakao snow hut festival

This is Matsu.

It's February.This month is the coldest month in Japan.

There are winter festival going on across Japan such as Sapporo Yuki Matsuri.

There is also snow hut festival at Nakao onsen in Takayama.

Local people make some big snow huts.They entertain you .

Access  90minutes from Takayama by car

Sky park

If you want to take  good photos of the Takayama with Japanse Alps,Sky park is the place you should go.

It is 30minutes walk from J-Hoppers Hida Takayama.

It is amazing view when it is a clear weather.If see that ,you wont forget Takayama.

Sake Breweries Tour

Sake breweries tour!!

Eight sake breweries open their brewing facilities, which are not open to visitors at other times, for a period of one week in turn.
After the guided tour of the brewery, sake is offered to visitors for sampling. In addition, a commemorative golden sake cup made specially in Hida Takayama is presented to each visitor.

New Sake dedication ceremony.

Do you know "Sugidama"??




It is what is called a “sugidama”(杉玉).

This is normally hung outside of sake breweries  in Japan.

There is a ceremony for New Sake at Takayama.

Time:  10:00 Sugidama dedication ceremony.
         10:15 Traditional song sing in chorus
         10:40  Lion dance(Shishimai)
