Opening Festival for Kamiko-chi (27th April)

Festival to mark the opening of the mountain climbing season in Kamikochi featuring ceremonies devoted to the safety of climbers and many entertainments.

Date : 27th April 2012  

Time : 10:50-14:00

Place : Kamikochi  Kappa-bashi bridge.

Kamiko-chi is going to be closed

Hi there,I am Matsu from J-Hoppers Hida Takayama.

It is getting cold in Takayama.It seems winter season will be coming soon.

As you might know,Kamiko-chi is going to be closed on 16h Nov.

So this week is last chance to go there for the year.

It will be open in middle of April next year.

Also there is Shin-hotaka Alps close to the Kamiko-chi.
You can visit there all year.

This area is 90minutes from Takayama by bus.
There are a lot of onsens you can take surrounded by amazing outdoor views

Road to Kamikouchi open

Road to Kamikouchi was closed to traffic due to landslides for while.It was supposed to be opend tommorow but it has been opned the morning today.
